Hi,

Pardon a really silly question, but I have looked everywhere for an answer...

I have a 17ft half cabin fibreglass boat. What is the small circular hole in the nose of the boat for? It is about 1cm in diameter and just under the winch hook?

There's only one way to find an answer and that's to ask...

Thanks!

My 4.3 quintrex has what you describe, and is used as the drain hole for the anchor well which had been cut into the top part of the bow....................

A couple of others around the boat as well. from memory.

its where you put the money into the boat. pretty sure you just have to roll the notes up.

Hey Haveago,

Please don't post a photo just yet, the guys above are providing some quite serious, yet comical, suggestions.

keep them guessing for a bit more....

A photo would certainly help though ?

I'm with Fishguts, I have one on my boat which only acepts $100 notes. I might add that it does accept them very quickly (modern engineering !).

Thanks everyone for the laughs. I have found there are three winners:

1st place tie for the most truthful answer - Fishguts and Frank100.
3rd place for the less correct answer - Garman1

I have found that the hole does not accept coins or denominations less than a grey ghost.

Thanks again for everyone's help. It's great! Off to Tinaroo tomorrow... (I'll have to remember to feed the boat again before we leave).

Mate, I don't have gardens as I work too hard. As to questions, you don't know the answers if you don't ask ;D.

While I'm a newbie, I'm sure that, along with me, there are plenty of things people want to know, but are too embarrassed to ask and never find out.

I'd rather know. Thanks again for everyone's help!

legless - no point in sledging someone with a legitimate question...
so haveago - if you look in the bottom of your anchor well you will see the drain hole which should lead to your 'outer hole' (no pun intended).

my hole is on the starboard bow and must be bigger than yours cos it takes some very large notes indeed!

Thanks mik01 for your reply ;D

Exactly right, except the anchor well tube was tightly blocked with 'bits'. It's clean now!

Havego, I certainly wasn't having a go at you, that is why this is such a great forum, ask a question and get an answer, with some good fun and jokes along with it.

choppa, love that one............................;D

fishguts, I think your on the money, feed money into the hole at the front and it goes out the back..................................;D

I am laid up with foot in plaster at the moment (cant climb into the boat, plaster isn't water proof) so I have not put any money into the atm at the front and no money has came out the back yet................... the boats in the garage.:'(:(
