Departed mooloolaba at 1pm thursday for what was to be a great trip, little bit of swell and very little lump, headed out 35ks to spot x, first drop and a couple of small snapper hit the deck, undersize but the signs were good, persiste here for a little while with little to no drift, moved on 8 km se to ledge for some pearlies, fished here for a couple of hours for some good pearlies and mixed reefies and a couple nice snapper to about 4kg,
Moved back in just on sunset and proceeded to anchor, by the time i got to the back of the boat from anchoring we were into em, the next hour was mayhem as the snapper were smashing anything that went down. the lethalp weapon of the trip was yes you guessed it Nuc chook. we pulled the pin about 7pm with a box full of fish and some sore arms, average size of snapper was 3.5kg up to the biggest at 5.5kg. run back to Mooloolaba in great conditions in 40 minutes. a big thanks to Nathan for the trip.
final count 15 snapper, 6 pearlies, 1 flathead (75cm) and 6 pigfish. The photos are not great as it was a last minute photoof the fish with the phone, and hey everybody knows what a snapper looks like, i hope. cheers lethal
