we are currently refurbishing a 565l and am interested if any one has weight of there bmt package including fuel etc ready to go fishing
we are thinking of putting a freshwater tank and shower ,canopy about 60kg maybe bait tank etc but dont want to go over limit, 1800kg for car we can get around but dont want to go over 2000kg and have to install breakaway brakes.
i have read Jeff Websters top rigs and says 1.25tonnes seems a bit light??
any info would be great thanks

I agree, 1200kg sound very light on. Refurbished a 565L myself a few years back, and have it fitted up with a 200EFI merc. Although I've never had it over a weigh bridge, simple calculated guesstimate would be:
Dry hull 650kg
Trailer (Mackay KR5500T) 495kg
Outboard: Approx 200kg
Fuel (200 litres) Approx 200kg
Fitout (seat boxes, bait board, rod holder, bow rail, anchors, steering etc: 150 - 200kg
Total: Close enough to 1800kg!
Tow mine behind a standard V6 commodore. Tows/Drives OK, engine works hard when accelerating and fuel consumption inncreases by at least 30%.
See pic of mine below. Please post a pic of your 565 when you get a chance, would love to see it.

Spiro.

think "HH565L" is very close to weight estimate
took my 1989 HH560SL + 2005 Yam130HP2st (170kg) + 2008 Redco trailer (580kg) over the scales recently = 1455kg total (dead empty no fuel or gear on board) - boat has transom replacement with ally pod (maybe an extra 50/80kgs). An old HH brochure suggests the BARE hull weight for this model is 650kg before any fitout (tanks, seats, electronics, batteries etc etc) surprising how these add up.

PS Spiro - thats a really hot refurb job - hope mine comes up that well.;)

Hi Mal,
Thanks for feedback. Took quite a long time and caused a bit of heart-ache but well worth the effort in the end.
Good luck with yours. If there's anything I can do to help it along eg advice, more pics etc etc please don't hesitate to ask.
Regards,
Spiro
