kaypee,

I have done the same engine upgrade, I have a Yalta 555HC wich is a 6m LOA hull, I changed the engine to increase my fuel range as was finding that the 150ltr tank was a range constraint with the Yam. The yam when traded had only 93 hours on it, I owned in from new, top condition, great motor.

Fuel consumption for the yam was around 27-32 Ltrs per Hour. Off shore in a decent swell was around the 1km per ltr.

Did an off shore trip off the front of moreton on the Sunday, weather was good pretty easy going all up, 134km round trip, used 70ltrs of fuel, ( measured by a lowrance fuel flow meter) and better than that measused by the EP20 (suzuki engine management interface).

The one unexpected thing in the change over, is the loss of speed, you mate is probly getting around 43kph @ 4000 rpm. The following figures are accurate as I have done these tests with consistency. one problem will b Prop selection

Hey Honda,

I'd be interested to know what variation you had between the readings on the Lowrance fuel flow and the suzuki interface?

Thanks,
Mike
