Just wondering if anyone can give me a heads up on the placement/construction of the fuel tank in a Haines Hunter 580C.

The main fuel outlet from the fuel tank has sheered off at deck height, so I am hoping there is still enough pipe from the fuel tank to simply extend the fuel line and clamp it back on. If not, the tank will have to be removed so another length of pipe can be welded on. This is not all that bad as I was looking an increasing the capacilty of the tank anyway.

However on inspection of the deck, I am unable to locate any screws to remove the floor. I am thinking that on construction of the hull, the tank is inbeded then the floor placed on top and glassed over.

This would mean that I would have to get the plans for the hull to woulk out where to cut a hole in the floor to remove the tank.

Any insight or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Joel

Can't be that hard if you need some extra pipe to get the clamp on, you could drill out or grind out, some of the flooring below where the pipe has been sheared off.

The floor on mine would be around 20mm, so that would be enough.
Or you could just cut out an inspection hatch in the floor to get accces to the fuel out let. Just make sure it's a water proof hatch you might need that bouyancy on day.
