Clark Abalone transom

My 4.1 Clark is an Abalone prototype, ie very old but solid and still going strong. I'm flicking a worn out Mariner 25 and looking at 4-strokes. Does anyone know the transom weight or hp limit on old Abalones please?

Yeah I was hoping to get lucky. I've seen the same boat with 70hp Johnno from the 90s and that seemed a bit much (to me). Weightwise I guess that would allow me at least a 30hp four-stroke with a bit of safety margin. (?)

I had a 4.6 Abalone back in the mid 80's with twin 30 hp Suzi 2 strokes.

Hi Mate,

I'm not really sure if this will help, but I have an '07 4.10m Allycraft Rhino and the specifications state that it can have a maximum motor weight of 95kg.

My engine comes in at 72kg, it's a 2007 Yamaha 25HP 4 stroke with electric start and power tilt, because I suffer from cerebral palsy, and need the electrics. I am happy with it's performance, with 2 aboard.

Mate i have 5m clark abalone i think 80s rated to 60hp i have 50hp on it now go well.cheers

We had an early 80's 4.2 abalone with twin Johnson 30's on the back. Hope this helps.
