Can anyone recommend a good quality 30lb Braid line and a 30lb mono line for offshore bottom bashing?

I've been using sufix performance braid now for a couple of ears, no problem, and always liked maxima and schnieder for mono, particularly maxima in 15kg

I guess in some ways the answer to both questions is the same thing, almost any reputable brand will be OK, as long as you steer away from elcheapo Ebay Braid and no name brands then you will be OK, Fins as mentioned is certainly OK, and Mono the same applies, buy a brand name and your set, now to just contradict what I just said, these days I seem to be buying more cheaper Mono (except for Game Reels) as you tend to use so much, rerigging and retying, all take their toll on line load, so nowdays I tend to use cheaper (but not rubbish) Mono and replace it often, in real terms it is as cheap as chips anyway.

Castaway, 50lbs Castaway is the same pe rating at 30lbs PE Braid
Or run 30lbs castaway with a bit of backing
If Castaway is out of you price range, Sunline Super Pe or Nitlon

The choice of braids is not easy. Knot strength. diameter, smoothness, tensile strength and weave tightness all are important. Nothing I have seen comes out tops in all categories. In 30lb I am using Fins but have just bought some Whiplash and it looks to the naked eye to be much thinner.
Mono is much the same and pick a line to suit the application. for what you have proposed I use Penn 10X but most work fine

I use 80lb Jigman on my bottom basher, but both of my sons use 50lb Nitlon and I like it too. One has the blue and the other the yellow so we can tell them apart. My neighbour uses 50lb Fins and that seems to be OK too.
