Murphy's Reef 16.5.08=Cobia

Hit murphys Friday arve to evening with a couple of mates.Tried fishing anchored and drifting while there wasnt much wind.Used mullet and pilchard baits.Reefies were slow on the bite everybody seemed to be moving around alot.Caught small grassies,pearlies and rainbow runners.Got busted off by a good fish that took my hook so upgraded trace.Got a touch on a half a pilly and sank the hook into a cobia after abit of a tug- a -war in 30m of water I got him to the boat.;D
Interested to know how the other boats went.

Forgot to say the cobia went about 85 cm I didnt weigh him though.

Hi Mex. Fished Cal Wide on friday arvo into thew evening. Fish were very patch and not really taking the baits. Finished up with 8 snapper around the 45 cm mark, 4 nice moses perch, 2 spotted mackeral around 5 kg each( first 2 for the year and they must have been lost out there, and three nice rosy job fish. Most of my fish were taken off the bottom and only 2 fish taken on floaters. Back at the harbour around 10 pm. Scott

Nice Cobia, we were at Cal 12 Mile Thursday and Cal Wide Friday and had to move around a bit to find them as well.

Might have been to calm???????????
