I've had my boat (about 25 year old fiberglass) for almost two years and have it insured with club marine, they've just sent a renewel notice and want a full out of water survey even though one was done two years ago when I bought the boat. Obviously this adds a bit to the cost of insurance, is this usual?

Shop around and get some quotes from other insurers and ask about the regularity of our of water survey. Try NRMA would be my suggestion.

NRMA would not touch my last boat...I was insured with QBE.
Perhaps the age might have something to do with it
