They're pretty much all the same dude...generally most of them fish the same spots. To catch good fish off the goldy, you really do need to go a fair way out. Having said that, sometimes the close reefs fish alright...but I've never caught anything decent over 2 or 3kg apart from a few Mackeral and Tuna down at Palmy. I'd be more inclined to save your dollars and go out on a charter up the sunny coast to the barwons or out on Sea View or Tom Cat from Raby Bay...Both the latter boats have been bagging quite good numbers lately off North Straddie. My cousin went out on Gone Fishing down the coast recently and the boat only caught 3 tuna the whole time...Said it cost around the 130 dollar mark or something...not too sure.

You could also drive a little bit further down to Tweed and fish with Reel Fishn Charters. John the skipper on the boat fishes down of Kingscliff , Does not cop the pressure of thousands of boats fishing it every weekend.Boat is a 36 foat cat and covers the ground pretty quickly so not to much time traveling. His number is 0411151755
