I have put a spotlight on top of my rocket launcher.
I have run wires from light to switch then wired swirch to battery.
Do i need to put a fuse in the line from battery to switch?
Cheers

Yes. Every circuit should be protected by a fuse or circuit breaker, the closer to the battery, the better.

For sure ... go to SuperCheap and buy an inline fuse - approx 15amp - and wire it close to your battery on the "positive" side.

Depending on the wattage of the spottie id also consider putting in a relay to take the load of the switch. You can also buy fuse/rela combo's from supercheap.
without a relay you may find that you are burning out switch contacts
