Does anyone have a 3.45m Topper Tracker (Makocraft) with either a 9.9HP or a 15HP motor?
How fast do you go?
How does it handle?

If I can go 10klms per hour (6knots) with the 4HP 4-stroke what do you think I could do with a 9.9HP 2-stroke or a 15HP 2-stroke?
Thanks

G'day

I can only give answers as I have a similar boat.

I have a 3.7 horizon, 9.9 2/ merc. It's pretty heavy with the fit out.

I see 34kph full tilt.

I think with a bare hull and a 9.9, you would see a touch over 40 I reckon, set up correctly.

We have a 3.3mt AQUAMASTER punt car topper with a 15hp Johnson. It's built for a 9.9hp. One person at full stick get 38kms or 20 knts by the gps, on the dam.

I was told by the makers that if you are going to fast the bow could lift up with wind gusts and/or wave, because of the flat bow.

Got a 3.4 allycraft v tinny and think it's a light version as there is no center seat.
It's pushed along with a Evinrude 9.9, 2 stroke 91 vintage. It is fitted with a heavy 17mm form ply floor, and a home made ply side console to hold the electronics. In fact there is not much room left when loaded with all me gear, rods, cast net and 25l of fuel. Throw in my fat at 100kg and it tops out at 20knots / 37 kmh. Throw another body of say between 40-80 kg in the front and the speed drops to 15-17knts flat stick.

Had the tinnie up at top of Bribie on the weekend and with 3 pob had it up to 35 kms, down from 38 kms with just me. Did better than I thought.

No fish but a nice weekend.

I get about 37kmh in my 3.4m with an '86 15hp Johnson 2-stroke with two people onboard. Thats probably about a bit of 3/4 throttle. I rarely push it full throttle. That was in a river.... semi-calm but not glassed.
