in search of the mighty murray cod

gday am looking for some decent cod water withing 4-5 hours of sydney not asking for any spot x's just general streches of water to search preferably rivers as i dont have a boat. i have a 4wd drive so access isnt a problem nor do i mind walking so any info would be appreciated or pm me cheers fred

I have heard news of some nice cod being caught at Burrendong Dam lately. Although it is a large dam it is only at about 23% capacity. The dam is located near Wellington which is right at your 4 - 5 hour limit. The back camping areas have some narrower stretches of water with 4wd access. Dark coloured RMG poltergeist 50s or 80s seem to be successful. Will be trying my luck there shortly.
Long way to go for u though for a chance of a cod!

Have heard of some decent catches down the albury way. Some up to 70cm in the Hume dam, caught late in the afternoon. Some decent fish close to the wall and just outside the inlet
