Headed out off mooloolaba midday thursday for a 2niter. searched out wide in the hope of gettin onto snapper n pearlies. Fished heaps of new spots and old and fishing was awesome, got smashed buy sharks n big fish till all we would drop was the winch. Managed a 10.5kg coral trout and 5.8kg coronation trout n a big coral cod n moari cod bout midday fri. with sharks following em up the whole way, before losing another monster trout to a 15' tiger under the boat that looked bigger than the first... this was a surprise catch to us as we have never cuaght a coral trout this far south or in 75m of water. Caught a heap of pearlies to 4.35kg with most between the 50-60cm range, good parrot in the 3-3.5kg range and a few reds. With a good feed and no bait left we came home early back at the ramp by 10pm fri.

cheers ty

Very nice fish there fellas. The sharks gave us a bit of a touch up off Moreton this morning as well. Few around at the moment.

Hey Ty,

Very nice trout mate.

Just got back from trip on "baitrunner" and filled up the 200litre boat esky. A few cobes, one red, shit load of 45cm hussar, parrot and big moses perch. Got sharked a lot. Never seen the bloody sharks so bad. Frank grunted for 20 minutes on a 12 foot tiger but when it saw the bottom of the boat it busted him off.
Cheers

Yes, who else but Frank the fishing machine. It took the bait a whole xos slimmy mac butterflied on a snood rig attached to a commercial fisherman's double swivel.

Cheers

thanks for the replies guys.

Barry, ive never seen so many sharks either....half the spots we pulled up at the other night had 4-5sharks swimin round the boat and thats just the 30foot circumference round the boat that the fluros extend too....will be heading up that way for the weekend if weather stays good n looking for crew was wonderin if u or franky would be interested

great fish there mate, from the banks?
a trout like that is on the top of my things to catch list
we went out cal wide in search for sum nobbies but missed the tide change as we were stuffing around with parrot and undersized pearlies at 9mile
