I'll be in Cairns from the afternoon of the 18th May until the afternoon of the 22nd. Attending a weed conference there to talk to all and sundry on neem trees.
As mentioned before I'm particularly interested in impoundment fishing as we have two dirty great big lakes on our doorstep and are in the process of trying to get a fishway installed on the bottom dam, (design studies completed).
I'd be really interested in having a chat with anyone over there in the limited time I have about the impoundment scene in general, just wanting to get a feel for it.
Additionally I thinks there's a fair bit I could learn on fishing techniques as well that would apply to the Ord above the tidal section where there's a constant flow of water coming out from the dam.
