just wondering what the best grease for the slides on mechanical overide brakes.
doing a full over haul on my trailer atm.
in the past i have just used quicksilver 2 4 c, but it seems to get sticky and yuk after a while, rendering the slides use less.
i was thinking somthing like never seize or a graphite type grease?
brakes are fully submersed when launching so needs to be water tolerant!

cheers in advance

The OMC tripple guard is the only one I know doesn't go hard and black in salt water but I thought the Quicksilver product would be very similar. My only concern with using any non bearing grease around brakes that all parts of them can get very hot so possibly Nautalis marine bearing grease would be the safer option but it "cakes a little in salt as well but not like general grease does.

I use the nautilus as above, no problems with it overall but maintenance periods come into play. I don't use grease sparingly anywhere near my trailer.
