Hello

I'm thinking of getting one of these motors but i dont know which one.
I'm going to get a courier to deliver it to my home.
Could anyone please help me choose.
Or could anyone give me some info on which is the better one to get

just be very careful buying something off Ebay like a Motor, simply because you cannot see it, test it or get any sort of Warranty, not saying they may be OK, but just as possible they are not!

As Noelm said, although I am sure that there are a lot of good buys on Ebay.

Both these motors sound almost too good to be true I would have to say. One said to have had only had light freshwater use, and the the other supposedly only 10 hours use (unproveable, you have to take the word of the seller).

w-w,
I would buy neither of these motors. It will cost at least $150 for freight & you still have a pig in a poke. Up your budget to $650 & keep your eye on the Trading Post, etc.

Don't you already have a 5hp motor ww? Why are you looking to change what you have got?

peterbo has a good point there on shipping cost. You could finsd something similar locally for around the $650 mark. It is always a risk buying sight unseen. I'd choose the Suzuki if Ihad to make a choice simply because I have owned one of those 5hp Suzi's and they are real light on the fuel, and very easy to start.

Also, factor in that any little use and long storage in the dry will probably mean a new impeller soon because long term dry storage will damage those things more than regular wet use in many instances.

A low hour motor if well looked after can save you many dollars off new though. Need a bit of lady luck at times in these choices :)

I don't know if they still have that motor ww. It has been on their website for ages, but I don't recall see it there (I am in their yard every other week).

Get on the 'phone to the local boat dealers and find what they have in stock at the moment, some keep their web site listing up to date, others don't.

Any motor you buy from a boat yard would probably come with some sort of warranty, and they should have checked it out for any major problems.

That mercury motor is still at Leisure Marine ww. It was stuck out of sight right up the end amongst the new motors. Has had a fair bit of work by the look of it, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. They have had it for a while so they might be negotiable on the price?.
