I was wondering if any of you guys have ideas/thoughts on design and layout of centre or side consoles to maximise the storage space in a way that suits fishing from a large tinny.
I'm removing the single steel panel 'side brace' from the budget Quintrex side console in my 4.60 Dory, and building a fully enclosed ply console box, which will be covered in marine carpet. It will have an under dash shelf to house radios etc, then aluminium angle screwed to the inner walls below to act as guides for several Plano tackle boxes which should free up some space on the deck. This will be able to be locked which should also keep light fingered individuals at bay.
Any thoughts before I get too far into this, would love to hear from anyone who has done something similar??
