4 or five guys at least on this site with them,

I have the 555HC, It handles the offshore work with ease, we fished a month ago in a predicted 1.2 mtr swell ::) off the goldie, to find outside it was a good 2-3 mtr swell or better, 3 on board full fuel load not a problem, one of those boats that just makes you feel safe.

Every one that has been on the boat has been really impressed with it.

yeah mate all good. Punch into the crap pretty well and are reasonable at rest. great value for money IMO. They also launch clear out of the water pretty well if you ever get the urge.;D

If you are any where near Redcliffe there is a 2nd hand SeaRanger (Yalta 189 hull) that has been converted to a centre console. It has about 50hrs on it. It was stored in a shed most of its life so it is in great condition.

Wak69, I hope they are good. I have ordered the 615 and still have about 3 weeks to wait until it arrives :|

longest wait of my life I think.

Sam.

I came back from a few days at Northern end of Moreton yesterday with my young family on board and 25 knots of SE beam on across some fairly shallow and unforgiving water.

Would I normally do this sort of thing? No I wouldn’t. But we took it easy and the boat was completely safe and predictable.

If you search this forum for 555 you will find plenty of photos or PM me your email address and I will send you some.

Cheers,
Scott

Sam.

If you are in SE QLD they are usually at the Tinny and Tackle show which will be held in a couple of weeks.

Some mods I would consider on the 555 for offshore work would be:

Duel batteries
Float switch on the bilge pump
Plumb the back tanks as live bait tanks
If you go the Brooker trailer, (don’t get the strap on the winch get spectra rope and treat every nut and bolt on it as they will rust very quickly and check the bearings for split pins)
They offer a Matrix sounder/GPS combo which I took out of the package and sourced my own Furuno gear.
There is no EPIRP in the package and would be needed (a 406 Mhz next year)
I added extra rod holders and a grab rail and ladder

Sam,

I agree with all things on Scotts list if you can stretch the budget, just a couple to add ;

Get some addtional sets of rollers on the trailer, tell them you want a set on each cross member, will save you some greif getting it on and off and scratches in the hull.
Make sure that the second bait tank (unplumbed) has a drain into the bilge, or it dumps straight onto the second battery.
If you go the yam, 2- (115 /130 which is a good engine) then see if you can upgrade the fuel tank to a 200 ltr.
At the back of the boat in front of the engine make sure they fit some stick on non slip steps, the cable tidy scratches the crap out of the gelcoat on the back. One thing I do give Marine tune the thumbs up for is service, nothing has ever been a problem, "yep bring her in and well have a look", service has always been great.

If you keen for a look pm me and we can arrange something, I am not too far away from you.

I to have added the extra front rollers and a preventer to stop the boat going forward or up if braking suddenly.
