I've bought a dual axle trailer that was carrying a Bertie 25, that I need to shorten to carry a 23 footer. Obviously there will be a few other modifications as well, including the repositioning of the under carriage carrier. Is there a rough rule of thumb for it's position along the chassis of the trailer, or do you just move it fore and aft until you get the correct weight on the tow ball?
Thanks in anticipation, John

Move the winch post back, adjust a million wobble roller sets ;D and then move wheel set as required to get the correct drawbar weight.
cheers
John,
You need about 7 to 10 percent on the towball,of the overall weight of trailer and boat.

Fred Shorney 0424 045 696 (freelace trailer mobile operator) helped me recently - lot of experience with boat trailers.
