Anybody know what revs a motor can usually be run in a tank test.

With a test prop usually full rpm, what happens is the water will eventually heat up and eventually overheat the engine but usually oyu can do enough to diagnose a problem.

SHould add, not recommended to use much rpm with a standard prop in a test tank :P

I run my motor up to 1800 RPM. I don't put it in gear can't see the point it could do some prop damage.

So if you had a miss that came in consistantly at 2000rpm and you were told by a technician that he could not run your motor at that speed to confirm the miss because his test tank would empty in about 5 seconds would you believe him ?
So this has either got no test prop or he is using an old bath or something
