View Full Version : TABS Boats
Hi All
Im thinking of buying a 5.8 mt Tabs Bow Rider with a 130 yammy 2 stroke .Has any body had any experience with these plate boats are they good bad or indifferent.Looks like it will cost me way to much to replace the floor and transom in my haines and I will still have a old boat if i did get the work done.
Thanks

very solid well built boats handle a lot of punishment and priced better than most tinny manufacturers which all fall apart at the seams, i fish a 5.5m terretory pro commercially and flog the hell out of it although i did upgrade to 5mm plate its a very sound boat.

Skusto won't name brands but owned a few types over the years that weren't plate with weak cross members and was lucky to get six months out of them with the flogging i hand out stringers would crack cross struts, concoles and anchor wells cave in they don't handle the riggers of offshore fishing, why anybody wastes money on these tin cans has got me if you get a tinny make sure its plate with fully welded longditudinal struts or all you will be doing is welding it up on weekends instead of fishing thats if you even make it back to shore.
Had a few dramas in the begining were all tracked back to dealer , who stopped selling them .
But , now love my TABS bowrider , mine is 5m with a 115suzy 4st, and love it , get out to the reef , and fish overnite on good weather, and got caught out in 25knts and large swell and white capps everywhere and got home comfortable , pulls two tubes with adults on them easy , good match , it gets along nicely though I still think the motor is too low .
If you get one get the max hp you can get on her , and them you wont be wishing later.
