I was out the other day when VERADO BOB pulled up beside me,great rig he has .looked well balanced at rest & good attitude underway.I think a 575 cruisecraft wouldn't handle the weight IMO causing the boat to ride more on it's aft section, hence a harder ride.Probably would float the verado at rest not to bad with those big chines.

cheers

After re-powering my Cruisecraft 2 months ago I am pretty sure the Verado comes in around 12kg over the max weight advised on the transom.

ROBBO what did you have previously (motor) & has the boats ride or handling characteristics changed?
Did you repower with a verado?

cheers jason

Soulfish, previously had a V4 130 Yamaha and now have a 150 Optimax on it. To be honest I haven't enough hours on it yet to say how the motor has affected the handling. Will wait until I have done an overnighter at the reef before I can answer that.

Nearly doubled my fuel economy and plenty more power.

Never paid much attention to the Verado mid-section, but it looks like an interesting design. Moved way from the conventional set-up a lot. How does the 200 perform against say the Suzuki and Honda 4's?

OceanSpirit,
Think you will find, the looks of the mid-section are simply achieved by a plastic shroud.

give the boys at cruise craft a call regarding the weight your transon can take.
07 3390 4877
they will answer any questions you have .
check yr messages

as for the mid section on a verado the L4 135 to 200 is the same as all other outboards but the L6 200 to 300 has a different mid section

i put my trim tabs on when i still had the opti on and they are there just for fine tuning to get the best ride in differing seas
