Hi guys,
I'm hoping to spend a few nights on the Capricorn Group of reefs shortly but am unsure if I can obtain unleaded at Heron Island.
Does anybody know if I can get fuel?
Any other tips are appreciated.

I visit North West Island (10nm north west of Heron Island) for 10 days each year in August, however, our boat is taken out on the 45m barge "Curtis Endeavour"(we camp on the island for it is a national park), we do take a full tank of fuel (90L) and a spare 80L which is good for 10 days.

I did visit Heron Island once but they would not let us land for we were not guests of the resort. You could ring the resort or the research station to check on the availability of fuel.

As far as I know the general public cannot land at Heron Island, so would very much doubt they would allow you to refuel. You will probably have to run back into Rosslyn Bay or Gladstone.

No you will not be able to buy fuel from Heron island. Polky.
