Guys n girls,

The deck on my GRP Blackfin is looking a bit shabby and i want to clean her up. It has a coating of the anti slip deck paint on it and i would like (if practical) to strip that back to the deck and repaint/ carpet the inside.

Anyone got any experinece with this and if so what is the best way to get this stuff off? I would prefer to avoid using a wood plane and as it is anti slip it is more abrasive that the sandpaper too (which means $$$ when sanding)- is there an easier way at all i.e. chemical (acetone etc) paint stripper??

also- this paint is up the insides of the gunwhale (if that's the right word!)- as the hull is GRP- I dont want to accidentally tear the arse out of the hull- what is the inside of these sorts of hulls? Is it the inner skin of the fibreglass or does it go to timber (i assume the former). If so, will paint stipping chemically attack the hull- which i want to avoid obviously!!

Any thoughts people?

Cheers

Jim:)
