Team,
I want to get a rear step welded onto my 495 Truck. The price I have got locally is for a step approx 350mm by 500mm, checkerplate ally, finished with good 50mm edging, rail from step to gunnel. Cost $200.

Sounds ok to me, does this sound like rasonable value to those in the know?

Cheers.

Sounds good. Last time I had S/S welded it was 65 bucks an hour and I did the prefab and all the cutting.

Its right on the money without painting....with add another 60 bills.

Lads - thanks for your thoughts.

That price is supply materials and fabricate installed on the boat. Not requiring painting as tinny is bare.

Second price I got late yesterday was $300 for the same thing, so the original price sounds good.

The boat is booked in for the step on Monday. Drop off on the way to work, pick up on the way home, gotta love it.

Cheers.

You know that's a big step, my duck boards would be 300x200.
You almost got your self a marlin board in that size, how come so big?

Roughasguts - that's the size that was mentioned to me on the phone. I will have a talk to them on Monday morning when I drop the boat off about that. I don't mind if it is a bit bigger than usual, as long as it is functional and doesn't look out of place.

I'll try to remember to take some before and after photos.

Cheers.

Team - here is the finished product.

I delivered the boat at 9am, picked it up at 5pm. It is a very neat job and looks tops.

If anyone needs welding work done in the Rockhampton area I definitely recommend the services of this guy. If anyone wants details please PM me for more.

Cheers.
