Left Brisssie at about 2.30am on sunday morning and was at the Mooloolaba ramp by 4am. Got outside the bar to be greeted by glassed out conditions, however half way out ran into about 8 knots of south westerly which made the second half of the trip a bit slower.

Anchored up on a spot that had produced well in the past right on first light. Started pulling up a few undersize reds to start with and things seemed a bit slow. Then half an hour later got nailed by something larger with a snapper just under 5kg coming to the surface to be netted. From then on the fishing was solid for the next couple of hours with a bag out on snapper/squire and a few upgrades thrown in...

Things slowed down and moved to another spot which produced another few squire and a nice spottie that went just under 7kg.

All in all a good day.

At the risk of sounding like a judgmental nazi I hope when you say upgrades you don't mean throwing fish back that have been in the icebox cause you caught a bigger one. I am sure no one here would do that.

Well we didn't do that and would never do that. We were just throwing the smaller ones back in hope of the larger ones seeing as though they were on the chew. Luckily just called it right as the last one in the esky was the last snapper of the morning.

Cheers

Good work mate, a few top feeds there. I sure miss a feed of fresh snapper and I'm eagerly waiting for the mackies to return to Townsville, hopefully we have a bumper season.

You're a lucky bugger, having to deal with a whole 10knt of wind when I'm copping 15 knts plus, except for Thursday and fridays though, when the wind drops to 5-10's just to get our hopes up for the weekend.

Plaztix, yeah was a good morning. Haven't really got into the plastics yet so most of them were caught on bait, although we did throw over a couple of plastics and got nailed by some big fish, also got a couple of squire on them as well. Keen to get into a bit more fishing with palstics...
