Maintaining Skid surfaces.

I didn't want to hijack the other skid vs rollers thread...

The skids I have on my trailer are showing signs of wear, there is plenty of "meat" left on them but the surface is becomming rough.

What is the best way to smooth these out again? Sand paper then Wet and dry? or replace the lot?

If I replace them what cost am I looking at?

My current ones are teflon on top of aluminium.

Yep that's my fear of skids they wear then get in grained sand and salt, and start rubbing your gel coat off.

Wondering how you would go with a heat gun like they do with the polly boat to repair small scratches. Then spray with silicone spray.

Guess I would try a small hand plane for smoothing down the teflon, after the heat gun didn't work.
There only about ten bucks but work well.
Stanely Make them, pretty sure Super cheap have them in store as well.
