Hi Salmonking,

Check out the newsagent . There is Qld Fishing Monthly and Bush and Beach, two monthly fishing mags/papers worth the money. The April issues should be out in the next week or so. There are also the national monthly fishing mags like Modern Fishing, Fishing World and Saltwater Fishing

There is an annual publication called Hooked in Paradise that is a bit expensive but well worth the price. It has aerial photos of the waterways and heaps of info on species etc etc (note there are separate NSW and QLD versions);

http://www.hookedinparadise.com.au/index.php?page=editions

You should also be able to find some free brochures on species limits, regulations etc at most tackle stores and boat yards.

The other book that I would highly recommend is Grant's Guide to Fishes, excellent reference book;

In the west most tackle shops have the booklets produced by the fisheries people - try them where you are

Mate, I've got a hard copy of the regs if you can't lay your hands on a copy. You can download 'em as a pdf but they're a pain to print out. I've also got a couple of fish id books that I can give you, as I use Grants solely now. Shoot me a pm if you want to pick 'em up some day.

Mate you can get a booklet on Fishing and Boating from QLD Transport that has sizes and limits.Also the little orange tide guide for SE QLD(Great Outdoors) at the local tackle shop or news agent-both cheap options.
