Hi
I'm looking at getting a new rod for fishing the Murray river in a 3 man tinnie. what size rod should I be looking at and can anyone suggest a rod for under a $100? Also should i be looking at getting a specific reel for this type of fishing?

will be using bait. as far as the reel of got its just your basic reel[sorry I cant give much more info than that]. rod of got is fine for fishing from the bank but I found last time we were in the boat its just to big. So I suppose my question is if you were to go out and buy a rod and reel for fishing with bait in the Murray from a small boat what would you buy?

G'day

I've never fished the murray but a general purpose rod thats built well would be an ugly stick, something around 6' or 7', 2-4kg.

Match with a 2000 or 2500 sized reel, line to suit

Same as Blackened, probably the Ugly Stick would be the go with a 2500 sized reel, but i would get a bit smaller than 7'
