Hi all, as im sure you all know i am a rubber ducker, in the way of boats.
yesterday i took it in for its yearly service i had the motor off the back and once i got up over 70ks the trailer was all over the show i pulled over and slid it back about 10cm and then it was ok. Once i was at the shop i told the guy and he said that normally that means theres too much weight over the tow hitch so should i haved moved it forward . any ideas

P.S i should also mention that it has massive tyres on it as i tow it up the beach. land rover defender tyresas i drive a fendy thanks guys.

For all normal usage you have at least 10% of the trailers weight (including the boat) taken by the towbar. If the trailer is all over the place, it suggests that not enough weight is on the towbar. The big tyres could also be at fault. If they are not balanced, the trailer will jump all over the road. A light boat like a rubber duckie is too light to have any affect on the trailer and unbalanced tyres will create havock. Check the tyres for any defects like out of round and get them balanced before you try anything else. However, you must have that 10% of the weight sitting on the towbar.
