Hey Guys

I have a 5month old GME GX300.

i noticed a few months ago that when the unit is switched off there is a buzzing sound, but no buzz when unit is on. This has drained my battery and am now having to use battery isolator switch immediatley after using my boat. I have resorted to unplugging unit from battery.:P

When cleaning my boat i usually lightly spray side console (sounder, instruments, and radio). i assume these units would be able to withstand light spray????

I was curious has anybody encountered this problem and also how heavily do you guys spray your consoles?

Thanks,

Damien

I have a GME GX300 27MHz/CB marine radio that has worked very well since new. Recently I noted a low level buzzing sound from the speaker when the set was switched off but with power still applied. Concerned that this may drain the battery and affect proper operation, I investigated. I contacted the GME Service Department in Sydney and found them to be most courteous and helpful. They quoted a very reasonable price to rectify the fault but also gave me sufficient information to successfully fix it myself. If anyone wishes for more info, please contact me. pocka105@gmail.com
