Hi

I am thinking of purchasing either a Raymarine A60 combo or a Garmin GPSMap 550s combo but am undecided as to which one,if anyone has got either of these units, I would like some information about , are they easy to use, accuracy, durability etc,any information would be great.

P.S. If anyone knows the cheapest way to purchase one of these units or cheapest place this information would also great.

Thanks

Matey go to fishon there pretty good, Ive purchased garmin 525s from the states and saved $500. I have the Garmin 340c sounder and i,am about to install the 525s, I have always used Garmin with no complaints. In saying that Raymarine are also good. The 525s cost me $1185 landed on my door in 5 days. Polky.

When buying from the US, make sure the unit can also display in metric units if that's what you're used to. My Raymarine DS500X doesn't...

Is there any difference with buying a combo unit from the U.S. and O.Z., besides the price difference.

Besides the ability to display in metric, there are differences in warranty (depending on brand) and on some GPS units, the basemaps pre-loaded on them. I would check these things out before buying from US.
