What a sad day!

One of the North Ballina canals backs onto my house. This morning there were dead fish floating in it for the first time since the bid fish kill in the Richmond the other week. there are four big milkfish floating around that i can see from my back window. Dirty water must have finally made its way through from North Creek.

More than likely Mullet, prety sure that Milkfish (chanos chanos)are endemic to the very northern reaches of Aust but regardless of what they are it's still not good.

Nope! Snagged one with a popper and dragged it in. Definitely a milkfish. Big crescent tail and paler than a mullet.

If you look at previous posts you will see that I have given a few tips about catching them. Great fighters and great sport!

What a waste!

Hey Banshee,

while not in big numbers, there are Milkfish in some of the enclosed waterways in that area.
