Jump on www.thehulltruth.com (http://www.thehulltruth.com) and do a search. Grady White are highly regarded in the US, in my opinion you would be hard pressed to find anything built in Australia that would come close to the Grady's.

Was that the boat they tested in this months Tailer Boat..., I am sure it was a grady white which weighed in at around 5.5 ton

Theres one on display at the boat show in Vic right now. 30 footer with twin 350 Yammy V8's on it.

They have a long heritage in the US, the Grady Whites.

Hey Lippa

I know you dont want to hear this but during the Riveria light tackle masters a couple of weeks back the seas were very ordinary and that Grady white was competing. It looked pretty good slicing throught the crappy seas, i got a very nice view as i passed it on the way to the wide grounds!!!!;) ;D Go the 5.2 kc's!!

Should i pm a link of this thread to Dean1?:D :D

G'day Hungry,

I looked over the Grady Whites at the boat show in Houston, Texas.

The amount of boats at this show was mind boggling ... take the sydney boat show and multiply it by 4.

The Grady 28 footer was the show stopper for me.
It had everything thought of ... helm was excellent, cabin was brilliant and useable - including drop down table, microwave on inverter power and toilet / shower.

Finish was superb.

Storage was everywhere, and all purpose designed.
Obviously the people that design the boats, use the boats.

I would definitely say that it was the best finished and fitted out trailer boat I have ever seen.

I have never water tested one, but the reputation they have is very good.

There was a writeup on one I read not so long ago - I think it may have been in Trailer Boat Magazine?
They tested it in crappy weather out off Sydney and it went well.

Grady did or does make cat ... It was called the F26 Tiger cat.
It looked very similer to the Glacier Bay cats.
I had heard stories that they weren't anywhere near as good as the Australian made cats.

Cheers

Thanks everyone for replying.
Pete the reason I'm asking and not calling you is that, you generate no income by yakking on the mobile. In about 12months time our litle retreat will be finish around agnes water and I cant bring myself to bying a 100k cruiser to tow my cat up there. A second boat pernamently station there would be better, if I decide to drive up light or fly in, and we would want to spend longer periods at sea than running back and forth.
A friend has a 30' modl in his fleet and from what he was spoofing about. In his mind all other boat should be sent to the dump period... that's why I'm asking before I spending time testing one..
Finding time are you sure he wasn at all interested going fast. I have a 2300NC I know the cat are good but that ???????

G'day

A client of mine has recently imported one and He loves it.

It's around 25', centre console with toilet built in and powered by a big suzy

I have been over every inch of this boat, the layout is excellent, the thought going into the design is brilliant and the finish is incredible.

I was really impressed with the smallest things, such as deck lights that used good quality plugs, similar to the automotive style but marine grade to join wires. No ugly crimps or solder joins to look at.

Also under the padded gunnels, there was some heavy duty mesh stitched in on the underside to aid in airing out the foam and upholstery.

Lots of little excellent ideas, great reputation... can you go wrong?

G'day Lippa - 8 is fine.

G'day Wayne,

A 30ft Grady White would be an excellent choice.
Also on the cruiser - it would tow your cat, but a long way to tow back and forth.
Did you see that the new cruisers are still only rated to 3.5 tonne towing capacity, not 4 tonne as was expected?

WARNING TO EVERYONE

Dean1 now owns the fastest and best riding 5.2 Kevlacat ever made.
I just finished some gelcoat repairs on it and whilst doing them I took the opportunity to reshape the front the same as my Sharkcat ;D ;D ;D

Cheers
