Mike,
the ramp at labrador is pretty good, has a nice pontoon, next to it is a beach with "facilities" and you can bring your boat in on the sand, just behind wave break island. dont know if you can tube there but may be a good base camp.

Try santabarba (hope thats spelt right) on the northern gold coast it has a nice boat ramp a ski area out the front and a great park with shade for the family. The only problem can be if it is a high tide as the tide can cover the sand and no where to park your boat. It is a popular spot for skiing

Hi Mike
The eastern side of the Deep Hole in behind the starboard lateral beacon (green pilon). Between this beacon and Sth Straddie has good water, plenty of room for tubing, and you're somewhat protected from easterly winds. There's beach area on the island to anchor up for lunch, haven't been ashore there for years so I'm unsure of facilities.
The Labrador ramp has good facilities but can get crowded on weekends, you'll need to get there early for a parking space.

Mike,
Another good place is the area behind Neverfail Islands. They are the islands opposite Tipplers Passage.
You can run quite close to them on the western side and are protected from anything with easterly in it. No area there for a base though but you can stop at any area on Straddie which is line's throw from that area. A bit of traffic gets thorough there on weekends (Neverfail channel) ... you are not in the channel but the wash from large planing hulls may upset the tube a bit as it gets to you.
The southern area near the start of the 6 knot zone is a great place for a beach base and tube the back of Neverfail.
Always grab a bite to eat from Tipplers as well .... plenty of wallabies for the kids peek at ... prices are a bit on the high side.
Santabarbera is fairly ordinary place on weekends with quite a few accidents there over the years. It just due to the sheer numbers that gather on weekends. During the week might be fine though ? I've come through there many, many times and have frequently had to take evasive action to avoid idiots that dont follow rules in a confined space.
There are some great beaches and tubing areas just north of the Seaway on South Straddie. The campground area has a few people in it (well last Sunday there were plenty there) so avoid the area once again because of numbers but that general stretch of water (and beach) has some great spots. Numbers are far down compared to car access ski areas because you can only get to the area by boat of course. Use the Southport ramp (behind the southport pool) great all tide ramp. Watch the western side for rocks (near sign). Approach port side of ramp as you come back in. The beach there as it winds south might be a good area as well ... the park on its shores has toilets for the ladies.
There is another ski area in the Coomera but the upper ramp (at M1) has no pontoon or much beach as a base from mid-tide. Just down stream of it is a very good stretch of water for tubing. Although ...once again it can be busy on weekends with many wakeboats frequenting there.
Have a great day out .... keep an eye out for the silly season turkeys !!

hi Mike
Please excuse my attempt to use paint
the ramp is the black square
the curved black line is a swmming enclosure
the green is all grassed with bbqs and plenty of trees for shade
the yellow is beach for boats plenty of room
as you can see on the map this is a residental street with very limited parking
hope this helps

Mike,
that is a good spot, the northern side is pretty shallow, but the sothern side is deep enough. Nice enclosed water. single lane ramp not much in the way of parking though, wouldnt like to see three or 4 boats out there together however :o be a bit tight for space..
