Hi all,

I have put up a new website about Saving Moreton Bay which is a work in progress so would appreciate feedback if you think things needed to be added, some ideas you have, things you would like to see on the site etc. Please have a look and let me know. The address is www.saveourbay.org.au

Info on the boat rally will be placed up on this site too. With so much info coming out across various threads here, I thought it best to just to keep all the bits & pieces together that we have about trying to save our bay.

Thanks
Chris

Looks good, but on the facts page, maybe up the transparency of the bg overlay from 25% to 30-35% so text is a bit more readable, and push that left pixel to the right,;D

great work chris

cheers

Mike

Suggestion:

You shouldn't have downloads in Word (doc) format. They should be pdf.

1. Not everyone can see them
2. They can to easily be changed and used against you

Suggestion:

Do not use acronyms.

1. QLD should be Queensland
2. SE QLD should be South East Queensland
3. SEQ should be as above
4. EPA should be Environment Protection Authority.

There are many others but think of interstate and international visitors to the site.

Suggestion:

Who owns the site? Who is driving what it is all about.

People will want to know, particularly as you are also looking for donations. Think big, perhaps there is a corporate sponsor out there looking.

Thanks Mod5 - I take back all my joke comments in the test threads ! ;)

I will get onto those changes now. I have used word and my PDF creator takes forever to make them and is sometimes flakey, but have another PC now with the latest office which saves as PDF natively so these changes will be made post haste.

I guess I am in control of the site. I have put this together with the input of several people and an idea. Corporate sponsorship would be great and donations to assist in printing costs etc too. My private company owns the site name and is hosting it as we do web design etc, but full on sponsorship I will chase soon but I would like to get these little changes done and bedded before I chase that.

Cheers,
Chris

Sorry I didn't mean who physically owns the website but who is behind it.

Is the site a representation of just concerned rec fishers or is it a joint concern of rec fishers, Sunfish, MBAA etc. We all know here but someone coming across the site might wonder, "Who are this lot"

Might I suggest another page titled "Who We Are"

Not a bad idea. To be honest though, it is not backed by anyone in particular as yet. I have had the MBAA's blessing to link to them and I am using the site to assist in their plans with their proposal where I can. It is not backed nor is an affiliated campaign with the AFLP even though I am an Exec Member of them. I have deliberately not introduced this as a party political item.

It is simply a concerned citizen who uses the bay with my family & enjoys watching my son's face when he catches a fish who thought we need to have a simple, concise website that the public can see what this means to people like me and you. If I could get the backing of someone/somewhere that can support this cause and take it to the next steps then that would be perfect, but not at the behest of political idealogy or commercialism over helping protect what is our right to enjoy in all its glory - Moreton Bay.

Sorry for the little rant. Off my soapbox now.

Chris
