Went for the first test run today on the 1995 Seafarer Victory with new 150 E-Tec and new Hydraulic steering. WoW! what an amazing engine, an extra 15-20 MPH at top speed and half the fuel flow at trolling speed of the old 150 2 stroke.
All ready for the Riveria Light Tackle Masters on Friday, boat name is Ocean Runner.;D

Could be, he is fishing for a bite from the 4 stroke owners.
It's not his fault they are not on the chew.....http://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/../yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/grin.gif

Troy,

I would say thats not a bad price for a 150, I was quoted around the 21k mark.

Not a bad price there Troy. I assume that was fitted and tested?.

I have just repowered with a 150 E-Tec. The cost was $18,707 fitted and water tested. I also upgraded to hydraulic steering and replaced my switch gear which added another $1,400.

Cheers

Can I ask what props you guys with 150 etecs are using and what RPM you are getting at WOT? I have been experiementing with props on my 650 Classic and 175etec and am looking to find one that will rev out to 5500 or 5600rpm. So far the 14.75x17 Viper and 15.75x15 Rebel have not done so.

I have tried a number off differant BRP props on my 250 E-tec... I ended up going for the new Viper II.. Outstanding performance, exellant mid-range and hole shot, without losing top speed, I also picked up 200rpm with the Viper II, as apposed to the Viper... I also got a noticable increase in the fuel economy..

Give the Viper II a try in a 17" pitch.

I have had a few people tell me that the e-tec are a little noisy ( rattly ) .

please forget you own one for a moment and tell me if thats the case im not stirring anyone here just wanting to find out as much as i can because im buying a new boat soon and looking at a 150 e-tec as my motor choice .

i currently have a 140 suzi 4 banger on this boat after getting rid of the black anchor ( merc ) it came with as new .

i just dont want to have to change motors this time around it gets a little expensive .

YOUR THOUGHTS ???????

Remember it is not my intention to stir anybody here and if i upset anybody with the black anchor thing sorry in advance .

Hi MS

Why dont you talk to Purdo?

He is known by a number of us on the site and he is as straight as the day is long and will tell you the truth.

Would be one of the better service guys around and as he wil not be trying to sell you anything you may feel more comfortable getting info from him on Etecs.

Cheers

I once had a real cute lady tell me I was more handsome than Tom Cruise.
Then she said "special price for you,sir...five dollar..." . Whatever the heck that means http://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/../yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/undecided.gifhttp://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/../yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/rolleyes.gif.

Can anyone guess the moral to this story ? ;D.

Dunno about rattly, but they do sound like a CR250 I used to own, while the Suzuki sounds more like a Formula 1. (TIC);)
