Hi all,

Has anyone got a 2004 or similer Jeep Grand cherokee the have lifted and where is the best place to get it done on the coast. How much do people raise them?

They are so low to the ground and the cross member gathers sand like a dozer blade.

any 4x4 specialest or spring place can do this.
by law you can only lift it 1 3rd from factory in QLD. this should just give you enough to stop flattening the track for everyone else.

pretty sure if you go to high on a jeep you have to extend the tail shaft, the yolk wont grab and like any lift the higher you go the more drivability and ride comfort you loose. Also your insurance maybe void, trannie dept frown on lifted 4x4's

Give Peter a call at Westside 4X4.He is located at Sumner Park.
Doubt you could stump with a question in relation to Jeep.

Thanks for the advice everyone, and yes my mates do let me go first and flatten the tracks so they have highway conditions to drive on.

Hammonds Jeep at Capalaba were the specialists - dont know if they still are. Try Pete at Redlands 4WD Centre on 38233990.

Hammonds will give you the good oil.
Boys at the www.sunshinecoastjeepclub.com (http://www.sunshinecoastjeepclub.com) will no doubt give you the good oil.
Or www.brisbanejeepclub.com (http://www.brisbanejeepclub.com) .
Your grand will lift 2 inch with ease and quite cheap to do.
3 inch will cost more as a lot more hardware required, this is needed for 31 inch tyres.
4 to 6 will require Slip Yoke Eliminator conversion to the transfer case, long arm conversion.
Jeep action australia magazine has advertisers from dealers.
4wd.com will list kits from the states if you want to import something yourself. Lift kits for these things are wide ranging from many different manufacturers in the states to suit all budgets and wheeling requirements and levels of performance.
Rustys, pro comp, steel horse just to name a few.

Oh and advice is to stay away from mechanics that are are not Jeep experts. They will Fxxk it up on you. This can be said for nearly all things.
