After suffering though a Lowrance X-71 I recently purchased a Furuno LS4100 for the tinny. Problem is the new transducer (got the three in one, depth, temp and speed) is way bigger, and cannot fit where the old transducer was mounted as the motor is very close to it. I cannot move it over any further as I have pods on this boat.
Should I just mount it to the back of one of the pods? It just seems very unprotected out there and I worry about damage. Any other ideas on how to mount it?

Thanks
Goddy

Mate, you'll probably have to bung a picture on for that one.
Are the bottom of the pods anywhere near the water when motoring??

Yeah, your right, but I am about 1000km from the boat at the moment. Will post a pick when I get home next wednesday. Not sure how much are in the water on the move, will have to check but the bottom of the pods is level with the bottom of the boat, so would imagine you would get good water flow there. Again, will have to check when I get home.
Seems like an excuse to take the boat out!:D
