That's pretty cool - shows you how quick they can be and how agressive...

On another note - I hope your joking wahoo and silent - about the livebait ?

This is how we get exotic pest fish in our river systems - not cool

hey there,

awesome stuff,

my mum was telling me about "ernie" the barramundi they hav at work and how they put 5 goldfish into its tank, and how ernie went around stuffing them all in his mouth, after he got the 5th one all u could see was one of the goldfishes tales sticking out, so then ernie lines himself up to the glass and rams the gld fish in. greedy bugger.

cheers callum

haha thats mad, i got a jack myself half the size of that, and it still takes down goldies, mullet, herring, the same size as him, pretty much anything i put in their he will have it in his mouth, but ive heard goldfish have no protein in them just heaps of fat, he got real sick for a few days went really pale and just hid in his cave, from to much goldies, only feed him livies for a treat now, i also made the stupid mistake of putting my finger in thier to see if he attacked it, funnily enough he of course and hung and shaked his little heart out until he realised it was my finger,i was left with decent holes in my finger, and also left surged out my power from him splashing water behind the power point, dont think im doing that again....awsome to watch, also great fish

yeah wen i first got my barra i had a goldy in there same size as him..

well of course the barra grew faster then decide that the goldy was food so i found him one day with the goldy stuffed head first in his gob but he couldnt swallow it so he spat it out and tha freakin goldy is still living today bloody tough bugger

I wouldn't recommend it ,you could be up for a hefty fine. Though they are not on the noxious list they are on the non-indigenous fish prescribed list. This is a quote from http://www2.dpi.qld.gov.au/fishweb/14434.html

"It is an offence to release or cause non-indigenous fish to be released (eg pond or dam overflowing) into Queensland water. Fines of up to $150 000 apply. Additional penalties may be imposed for eradication measures."

I'm pretty sure the dpi would not look too kindly on the practice of using goldfish as live bait.

Cheers Chris
