weather for fraser Is / Awoonga??

I leave on monday to head up to fraser for wednesday (staying on mainland, sandy straits), and leave there the following wed for awoonga, everytime i mention it to someone they scream cyclone down my throat, fools??, i've been watching the reports and checking bom.gov and it really is only present info, long way to go to play cards for a fortnight... has anybody got a reliable forecast for the next fortnight.

Fraser Island Eastern BeACH is closed due to the weather.
There is little each to drive on and the tidal surge is such that you cannot drive up the beach

If you are staying at eurong, kingfisher you can enter the island from harvey bay.
