View Full Version : Cyclone off Gladstone

So the weather forecasters are saying a Cyclone MAY form over the next few days and pound our coastline. Only two things can come from a Cyclone, good flooding rain which we have to have, and damaging winds which are an unfortunate part of flooding rains which will fill our dams for a few more years.
Each time we get floods it changes the fishing dramatically for years afterwards. A perfect example is lake Mc Donald, now pretty much void of Bass. All that fresh flushing out the rivers of the crap that’s backlogged behind them, will make both saltwater and fresh fishing a different prospect over the next year, perhaps more. It will influence the breeding patterns of all our coastal species including Coral, and where their eggs end up hatching.
I wonder what will happen to all those huge impoundment Barra. Will they stay coastal or head to wormer water’s. One thing is for sure, many will die going over the wall. Sad but that’s Cyclones for you.
To anyone that might be its way, I hope you and your family are safe.
Take care.
Mitch

I have a wedding to photograph on the beach at Yeppoon soon.

It could get interesting.

I am trying to work out how to sneak fishing gear into the trip.

Sorry guys.... It's my fault.
I have a few days off.

Awoonga certainly needs a top up, so it's all good.
