Just got this from BOM and weather zone. Thought its time to put this up for any comments. Looks like the fishing will be off the cards for a week or so.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK
The high over the Tasman Sea will continue to move eastwards while slowly
weakening. The upper trough over the south-west of the state will move eastwards
and move mostly off the coast on Friday. From late Thursday onwards the upper
trough will amplify and induce a low at the surface off the central coast of
Qld. This low will then move slowly southwards during the weekend while
deepening and could potentially develop into a cyclone.
The upper trough will clear the cloud and rain to the north-east during Thursday
and Friday. A weak monsoon trough will develop over northern Queensland later in
the week bringing with it showers, thunderstorms and rain areas for the northern
tropics.
As the low develops on Thursday strong winds will initially occur on the coast
between about Bowen and Sandy Cape with offshore gales developing for mariners
about the Capricornia. However, as the surface low deepens and moves southwards,
the strong/gale winds will reorganize and by late Friday become confined to the
coast between about Bowen and Point Danger by evening. During Saturday the
strong winds will eventually occur south of St Lawrence with gales extending
further south to about SE coast. Along with the increasing winds, there is the
likelihood of increasing swells along coastal areas with very dangerous
conditions along the beaches with some erosion and high water levels along with
unfavourable conditions for boating.
In terms of weather for the weekend, showers will be mostly confined to coastal
and adjacent inland areas in the east and southeast with continual showers and
thunderstorms about the northern tropics.

With the weather conditions over the last week or so , was just thinking there had to be a low forming in the coral sea.

Looked up BOM today & there she is, good chance of a cyclone out of it too i reckon.

Just as long as the weather is ok for shore fishing on Tuesday I'll be happy!
Don't want to bloody drive from Townsville to Wynnum and not be able to wet a line!

WHo told the weather Gods the frog was going fishing????

:o:'(>:(>:(x100000000000000...................haven't had much of a chance to fish this past year, have a week booked at Hervey Bay, and see this on the news tonight. It is great news as if it does develop it will dump a heap of rain and most likely get the dams to at least 50% by the end of January but fair dinkum Huey, I just wanted a few days of fine weather to get the gear wet a couple of times:(:'(
Got to say i guess it's my fault as I did comment months back that this was a typical weather pattern for this time of year when I was a kid(07's) so i probably jinxed myself:-[
Glad I am not camping on Fraser as they will be the first lot evacuated by the weekend if anything does develop

You still have plenty of options Froggy.

Mary and Susan Rivers, Close in at Gateakers Bay and down the inside of Fraser leaving from River Heads towards Ungowa etc. The next best option is either the RSL or The Shed..... it has a big screen outside... cricket is on.

Good luck and if ya need HB local advice pop into fishntales.com.au and ask Mossy, Big Dan etc.
