hey guys i'm in the market for a new spin rod, at the moment i use a 8ft 8-10 live fibre and it suits my style of fishing really well , but old father time is taking his toll and i am searching for something similar to the live fibre in a white blank so i can focus on it a bit better in low light conditions. I use both braid & Mono depending on wheather i'm bottem bashing or float lining. I dont know much about custom rods so i'll leave the gides & reel mount to an expert but i have a soft spot for cork grips. I use a 6500 bait runner for the reel. It will be a snapper/ mackeral rod that may hook up to the odd cobe or jew at times. does anyone have a suitable rod in their catolog. if so post some contact details so we can have a chat & work something out.

Merry Xmass all

Just paint a blank that suits you.
I even have some luminous powder that can be thrown in the paint to 'light it up' in the dark. Works well :)
A silver or similar coloured blank would probably work just as good as white.

I just painted one for my dad. Blue/yellow colour change. It's going to be his Parramatta rod. :)

I've actually got a rod hanging up in my garage which is white. It's a heavier type boat rod probably 15-20kg and possibly 6'6" or close enough with a fast taper.

It would eventually need a set of new guides, although the ones on it are still quite viable. I re bound the old guides, quite some time back, but never used it.

I had it's twin (caught my first marlin) but it sadly went for a swim, never to be seen again.

It is a glass rod.

If you want to pay the postage you are welome to it.

thanks for the offer but its probably a bit heavy & short for my fishing. don t chase any marlin in my boat and i'm not sure if i hooked one it would fit (it would def rate on funnyest home vids)

Any spray painter could possibly do it.
Just make sure some flex additive is added to the paint.

Certainly are paintable. Have painted two now.

Would be easier if you stripped them & rebuilt them. BUT if there is nothing wrong with them, you could easily tape up the guides and paint.

Get either a flat or gloss in spray paint form from Bunnings or similar. Also get some clear as well.
The livefibres are coated with a laquare that gives them their reddish colour. On mine I stripped this off easily with a razor blade. But might be harder to do with the guides still on. I then lightly sanded back the blank and clean off with metho. Then hung up the blank vertically and from a distance of approx 30cm resprayed the blank. Gave it 3 to 4 coats. Better to go light coats rather than a heavy coat or you may get runs. Same with the clear as well. I hastened the drying along by using a heat gun at a distance to dry inbetween coats.
Been going strong now for over 12 months with no peeling or flaking.
