Attaching Spectra Rope To Winch Drum

Hows it going guys
I am replacing my winch cable with spectra rope I was wondering how others have attached it to the drum

depends on how the wire rope is connected. But best way is to drill a hole through the drum and poke the spectra through it & then splice it.
Done.

Most of the drums have holes already so they can be used for wire or strap. It’s a little fiddly but you can squeeze the 7mm spectra through. Otherwise just drill the current hole a bit bigger. I cut the strap off with a scalpel and it came off with one slice close to the drum.
