Vhf Radio

hi ther folks,
i have a GME vhf radio and it is sending a broken message. seems to be recieving all right but when i send the other party says it.s broken to nothing.
so firstly i changed the arial ( put a newy on)
still the same . someone said that ther might be a loose wire in the mike , so i pulled it apart and wiggled every wire but couldn't see any problems .
and of course noone can look at it before xmas and i'll need it then of course .
HELP PLEASE ......SUGGESTIONS.......pat

Pat - I had the same problem and it required a new radio. but mine was an ancient model.
perhaps there is a problem with the transmit function inside the unit itself?

check the power supply , poor connection somewhere . a multimeter whilst pressing the mic key will tell you what it's drawing .
