Hi everyone,
I have a 1997 Evinrude Elan 2 stroke and was wondering if it can be converted to electric start.

If so, who can do it and how much does it cost to convert?

Cheers :D

Hi Mate

Your nearest Evinrude/Johnson dealership should be more than qualified to fit the kit for you.

I'd would think it would cost somewhere in the $1000-1300 mark as that's what it cost me for my 15 here in brisbane, but it was worth it as I had a disability and it made it heaps easier.

You will probably find you will need to pay a deposit, then they will order in your kit. It's not something I'd imagine they would keep in stock.

Merry Christmas
Scott

Mate I would trade it in for one with electric start. It's going to end up cheaper and you have a new motor with warranty.

What size motor is it?

Let your fingers do the walking and ring every outboard wrecker in the land. most of them can tell you what will fit even if its from another make.

if i was desperate and loved my motor i would also try a few in the states. those lazy yanks would surely have something.
