Wondering if anyone has done a fishing charter in Papua New Guinea. My mates and I are thinking of going on an adventure.

I'm told the Black Bass is worth catching.

Any info or links appreciated.

Cheers

I did a week at Madang fishing on a 28Ft Steber ( Talio) It was a combination of Game & Reef fishing....... Our accommodation was at a working Coconut Plantation run by an ex pat Aussie. Gotta say it was a blast & we were waited on like we were Kings!!!! 8-) ..... Nagg

Yep it can be done but if ya want to get in to the PBB,s its generally gonna cost as the 2 specialists in the field are Baia sprotsfishing lodge or bendoroda Lodge which are located in West new brittain Province, Last time I checked Baia was in the vicinity of $3500 per week but Im not sure on bendoroda. If you are serious about the trip Try faxing the San Remo Club in Kimbe and asking if any of the local or ex-pat population would like to organise something for a few days (I reckon you get one of the boys up there with a half decent boat for about 2-300 Kina per day aud$150-200) with general deal being you supply food and fuel, I would recomend asking if Geoffrey Ling may be interested I know Geoffrey very well and he is the master of the bass (both spot tail and PBB) as well as being very switched on to the pelagic scene.
I can give you a stack more details via PM or phone as to what to or not to expect just let me know, I also have contacts and in laws in Lae and Alotau as well who have good and big boats and take the odd charter out.
Nagg, Malolo used to be a weekend hideout for many of the ex-pats up there went diving and snorkeling many times at the hole in the wall and only found out much later there was a 4m + tiger shark that called the area home.
