Don't think I've ever seen that one.

Dale P. Clemens books are highly regarded and cover just about everything.

Can be expensive, although you might get lucky.

Stu is spot on Andrew, everyone here had to start somewhere.

I wish I had have been able to access AF when I began building rods, might have saved a few horrors.

We also run a rod building weekend workshop once a year (to be announced) and nothing beats practical help.

A good way to have go is to repair/rebuild an old rod that you may already have. I had to replace a tip and a couple of guides on a JW beach rod, and was advised at the tackle shop that I might as well do all the guides...So I did and it was a little bit rough but when I had caught a few salmon on it I thought " I could build a really nice rod from scratch using good bits and a quality blank..."
Now I'm up to about no. 5 and have built a couple of baitcasters and a couple of spin rods, as well as having rebuilt a few baitcasters and a boat rod or two.
I don't do much in the way of decorative weaves - they bring on the carpal tunnel syndrome a bit too much.
I just can't get keen on the idea of buying an off the shelf rod anymore - I like the "I built it myself " job satisfaction.
And to answer your question, you can find how to stuff on the internet by Googling the stuff you want to know (like guide spacing, binding etc)
I got a book by Kirk ????? from Rodworks which is OK (can't find it right now)

Hi Robbo.
Apart from the first class advice from the rod builders at Ausfish, you can do a search in the Forum of this site for any additional advice you need on related topics, heaps of opinions and ideas.
